Norfolk Broads dream

This intimate 8x10 oil and cold wax painting on a wooden board is a masterful exercise in atmospheric abstraction and sfumato effects. By utilizing squeegees instead of traditional brushes, I achieved a highly tactile, matte surface texture characteristic of the cold wax medium, allowing colours to bleed and blend with a fluid, organic energy. The entire composition purposefully rejects sharp lines of definition, opting instead for a soft-focus, dreamlike quality that captures the emotional resonance of the Norfolk Broads rather than a literal topographical record.
